  • Community Service Day

After completing the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 10, Upper School students headed into the Midland community to serve.  Upper School Head, Tim Jones, wrote:

The Freshmen and some of the Sophomores, along with their teachers and advisors, worked with Keep Midland Beautiful and collected over 30 bags of trash from fields near Cinergy Theater. Additionally, the Sophomores organized a sock drive, collecting and delivering over 300 pairs of socks to Field’s Edge. This was a very timely and appreciated gift, as the inventory of clean socks available there had been exhausted. Students also served dessert and visited with some of the homeless neighbors in our community there before joining the rest of their classmates at the Keep Midland Beautiful initiative.
Our Junior students partnered with the Bynum School to help organize their library, which included an earlier gift of books from Trinity School. They also had the opportunity to work with students during their afternoon visit.
The Class of 2019 volunteered their time at the West Texas Food Bank. While there, they worked on sorting canned goods from recent donations. They worked so hard they quickly went through the supplies laid out in anticipation of their visit and more items had to be brought out for our students to organize.
