PreK-3 and PreK-4

The Trinity Preschool provides a nurturing environment where children's love of learning, discovery, and imagination is cultivated through hands-on, intentional play-based opportunities. Student-centered instruction focuses on foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills while supporting social emotional learning.

Preschool Instructional Hours

  • PreK-3
    • M-F, 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (with option for CEC extended care)
  • PreK-4
    • M-F, 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (with option for CEC extended care)
Options for CEC Extended Care until 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., or 5:30 p.m.

  • Literacy

    Literacy in the Trinity Preschool focuses on helping students understand and develop foundational concepts and skills.  Early literacy skills and activities include:
      • Early concepts of print
      • Letter/sound relationships 
      • Read aloud
      • Interactive writing
      • Comprehension strategies
      • Dramatic play
  • Mathematics

    Math instruction in Preschool focuses on building mathematical ideas and language. It is interactive and play-based and has components that support social emotional learning. Concepts and skills include:
      • Number recognition
      • One to one matching
      • Exploring patterns
      • Geometry and shape recognition
      • Comparing attributes
      • Looking at data
  • Emergent Curriculum

    The emergent curriculum in the Preschool empowers students to take ownership of their own learning and investigations.  Utilizing both indoor and outdoor learning spaces, children have opportunities to work collaboratively, play, and make discoveries as they explore. The Reggio Emilia Approach inspires our program.
  • Special Offerings

    Special offerings in Preschool enrich the daily experiences of our children.  These include:
      • Daily Chapel in All Saints Chapel
      • Spanish
      • Music
      • Physical Education
  • Assessment

    At Trinity, we understand that children are on their own developmental journeys.  We work to focus on individual growth and document each child’s progression at school through:
      • Developmental checklists and narrative report cards (three times a year)
      • Portfolios of student work
      • Benchmark assessments (given three times a year)
  • Parent Conferences

    Twice yearly parents are invited to meet with faculty to discuss and share information about students' growth and development.
  • Extended Care

    We understand that sometimes parents, need childcare options that extend beyond the school day. Because of this we offer the following:
      • For those needing childcare beyond 3:00 p.m., we offer extended care through the Rhonda G. Durham’s Children’s Enrichment Center (CEC). Parents may choose to extend their child's day until 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., or until 5:30 p.m. Contact Andrea Campos at acampos@trinitymidland.org or (432) 697-3281 for more information.
