Sarah Serpas '08

After 10 years living and working as an urban planner and researcher in NYC, Sarah moved back to Texas in 2018. She currently works for the City of San Antonio's Planning Department as a Senior Planner where her goal is to ensure the city grows in an equitable and sustainable way while engaging the public throughout the process. She is also working on a Ph.D. in Applied Demography at UTSA and has been collaborating on a project to identify the racial and economic disparities among frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"As a lifer (K3-12th), Trinity really set me up for lifelong learning. When I teach classes or workshops, I find myself thinking about the ways my teachers at Trinity modeled how to teach in a clear, engaging, and empathetic way. I am also forever grateful for the creative outlet Trinity gave me through musicals and choir, which created many deep friendships that have lasted 12 years on. "
