End of October Athletics Update

Mr. Jones
When the school year began I challenged our athletes and our coaches to usher in a new era of competitiveness and everyone in Charger Blue has certainly embraced that challenge.

The varsity volleyball team hosted their final regular season games last weekend, and with their win on Friday evening, solidified a spot in this year’s TAPPS 4A playoffs. It’s been a few years since the Chargers have had any November volleyball matches but this team has worked hard to earn the opportunity and will compete on November 9th. Opponent and game time yet to be determined.

The varsity football team won their third District game of the season last Friday for Senior Night and have two regular season games left before a week off, and their first round playoff game the weekend of November 20th. This Chargers team just seems to get stronger as the season goes on.

The Charger cross country team is headed to the TAPPS State Championship Meet on Monday in Waco. Many of the team’s runners are looking to post personal best performances for the season next week.

Since school began, all of our Middle School teams have worked hard. They have improved as teams and as athletes every week, and they represented the school well along the way.

Everyone in our community should be proud of the overall efforts of our Charger teams this Fall.
As we transition to Winter sports, we will look to build on this foundation of competitiveness and continue to build competency as teams and as athletes on the field, courts, and in the pool.

Go Chargers!
