Head Track Coach
Hi, my name is Greg Koch. I grew up in Houston, Texas, where I went to elementary school, junior high, and high school. After graduating from high school, I received a football scholarship at Cisco Jr. College where I played for one year. Following my year at Cisco, I received a scholarship to play football at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, where I earned a degree in PE Health and Recreation. Next, I was blessed to be able to return to the high school I graduated from, Stratford High, and coach under my high school coach. There I coached football and spent seven years as the head baseball coach. Following my days at Stratford, I became the Athletic Director at Katy Faith West for ten years, where I was to be a disciple for Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, every day. I also coached baseball and our 6-man football team for four years and led them to a State Championship. But to me, the most gratifying job I had was being able to teach PE. Through this, I had the privilege to mold the hearts of our future leaders. After being offered a coaching and teaching job at Holy Trinity Catholic High School, I moved to Temple, TX. There I coached the six-man football team and was a softball coach for four years. From there, I became the Athletic Director. This summer, I accepted a position at The Trinity School of Midland, where I will teach Middle School and Lower School PE in addition to being the Head Track Coach, assistant Upper School football coach, and Middle School basketball coach. I am honored to be here and to have the opportunity to teach coach your children.
The joy of my life is my son, Jacob, who is 28 and married to my awesome daughter-in-law, Chelsea. When I am not working, I love to read mystery thrillers and do water sports with my son. My favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7.
