Welcome to Lower School

Dear Trinity Families,

I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with rest, fun, and meaningful time together. As the first day of school approaches, our teachers and I are excited to welcome students back to campus. I am especially grateful to begin my first year as Head of Lower School at Trinity School.

For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving students, teachers, and families as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, curriculum leader, campus administrator, and district leader. Each of these roles has strengthened my belief that exceptional schools are built through strong relationships, excellent teaching, and a shared commitment to helping every child thrive. Since joining Trinity, I have experienced the warmth and generosity that make this community so special, and I am honored to serve alongside our dedicated faculty and staff.

My husband, Jeff, and I have called Midland home for a little over a year. Originally from the Houston area, our journey has taken us through New Mexico and North Dakota before bringing us back to Texas. When we are not at school or work, we enjoy spending time on the water—whether that means fishing or planning our next cruise adventure. We are grateful to be putting down roots in West Texas and look forward to becoming an even greater part of this wonderful community.

This year marks an exciting new chapter for our Lower School. Students will be learning in our new chalets while construction begins on the beautiful new Michael Eugene Black Lower School building. Our teachers and staff have been thoughtfully preparing these spaces so students will feel welcomed, comfortable, and ready to learn from the very first day. Although our surroundings will look different for a season, the heart of Trinity remains unchanged—in the relationships between students and teachers, the joy of learning, and a community where every child is known, valued, and loved.

My hope is that every child walks through our doors each morning knowing they belong. When children feel seen, supported, and deeply cared for, they gain the confidence to ask questions, take risks, discover new interests, and grow as learners and people. Our faculty and I are committed to creating a Lower School where children are challenged, encouraged, and celebrated.

Whether your family is joining Trinity for the first time or returning for another wonderful year, thank you for entrusting us with what matters most—your children. It is a privilege that our faculty and I do not take lightly. I look forward to getting to know each of you and partnering with you as we build an exceptional year together.
