As part of our commitment to educating the whole child, Trinity School is partnering with the Midland Child Advocacy Center to share age-appropriate information with students to promote their health, safety, and wellness. The Midland Children’s Advocacy Center will present the Being Safe program to all students in grades K4 through 4th grade.
Being Safe is a child abuse prevention and awareness program designed to teach children how to recognize abuse, how to say “no”, and how to get help. Children learn about body safety and appropriate touching. During the program, students will watch a safety video and participate in a discussion that a representative from the Midland Children’s Advocacy Center’s Education Department facilitates. Parents are welcome to attend the presentation with their child or have their child attend an alternative activity in a grade-level classroom during the presentation.
A strong partnership between home and school makes these lessons more effective. Therefore, Trinity is hosting a parent meeting via Zoom so that you can learn about the materials and ask any questions. Additionally, information about the program, including grade-level specific topics, is available under the Resource Tab in the parent section of the Trinity online portal. The schedule of student presentations, opt-out forms, and descriptions of each presentation are also available under the Wellness section of the Resource Tab.
We hope that you will preview all of these materials and plan to attend the information meeting. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
All students will attend the presentation with their class on their scheduled day unless their teacher receives the parent opt-out form indicating that they DO NOT want their child to participate. Students not participating will stay in a grade level room for an alternate activity with a grade level teacher.
