News Detail

Gavin Dorfner

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
Making big plays on the football field has always made me proud. Freshmen year, I remember making a move on a defender making him fall and the play making the news.  Accomplishing this as a freshman was a huge deal and I’ve carried this moment with me all four years of my high school football career.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs D., She helped form me as a person throughout high school. She has been very supportive in my life by helping me in ESS and being my computer science teacher. I appreciate everything she has done for me.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
The Teachers have always been supportive. Despite the rigorous workload, the teachers make themselves available so that I can have the help that I need. I have also made friendships that have supported me throughout my years at Trinity, and I know they will be here for me for years to come.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Don't wait until junior year to start trying. Keep motivation throughout high school.  Make sure you reach out to your teachers and work closely with Mrs. Kramer to make sure that you are on the right track. Also, join extracurricular activities, Trinity allows all students to be involved in all of the activities that you want to do.
