John Dorr

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Looking back, science most likely has had the most profound impact on me. I have always wanted to be an astronaut or engineer since I was a kid. The many different fields and concepts of it have always amazed me. I now even indulge in many documentaries and video essays over many complex concepts of the subject.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Ever since the beginning of Junior year, working out and running has become an integral part of my life and high school experience. I started running races last summer because of my step day, and now I am training to run a marathon in a couple month's time, which is also a part of my Seek and Find.

Usually, every day after school, I go right to working out, running at least 2 miles every day, then weightlifting. Sometimes I even do it in the morning before school, occasionally making me tardy. This has had a major impact on my high school life, shaping it into a better overall experience.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
After having many brothers and sisters have the high school experience prior to me, I have heard many different stories and things that have gone down. So after hearing about all these unique experiences, I am most excited and hopeful for one of the Senior Prank and Senior Skip Day.  Being able to have a whole day to myself, knowing other still have to get up early for classes, and I will be in my bed sleeping in.

What are your plans after you graduate?
My plans after graduation are probably like any other kid, attending college and majoring in something I like, that being Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I will find an internship in my junior year to get actual field experience and see if it's something fit to do for the rest of my life.
