News Detail

Jude Varner

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I was a part of the football team for all four years of high school. As a captain of the team for three years, I learned how to be a strong leader and push others, as well as myself, to give 100% on every play.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Dr. McHale has had a strong impact on my love for science and has always pushed me to be the best student I can be.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
The amount of love and support you feel from the teachers is incredible. I feel if I have any issues, academic or personal, I have adults around me who care and want what’s best for me.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
During freshman year, on our expeditionary learning trip, the boys stayed in a hostel while the girls got to stay at a hotel. We were all mad about this at the time but in hindsight it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had. I was able to connect with my classmates more and make lasting memories with them.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to attend Texas A&M University and major in nursing with hopes of becoming a CRNA in the future.
