Senior Spotlight

Tiara Sanni

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Photography impacted me the most because it allowed me to explore the world in creative and unique ways. It wasn’t just about taking pictures—it gave me the chance to meet people who appreciated my work and build meaningful connections through shared moments. Hearing others’ positive feedback about my photos boosted my confidence and inspired me to keep growing as an artist. Photography became more than a class; it became a way for me to connect with others and express myself.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I played basketball for three years, and it had a huge impact on me. My improvement in basketball helped me build confidence—not just on the court, but in other areas of my life too. It taught me the value of hard work and how to believe in myself. Balancing basketball with school also taught me time management. Between practices, games, and homework, I learned to stay organized and make every minute count. Plus, the bond I built with my teammates is something I’ll always cherish.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
I was extremely proud of myself when I maintained the High Honor Roll after moving to Midland. Adjusting from a British curriculum in a completely different country to a new school system wasn’t easy, but I worked hard and proved to myself that I could do it.
