What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Throughout high school, I have been involved in many extracurriculars and clubs, but my favorite experiences have been being part of the volleyball and golf teams. I began playing volleyball in 10th grade and immediately fell in love with the unity and collaboration of the sport. The season has become my favorite part of the year and has brought me great friendships. Playing golf has brought me valuable friendships and has taught me a lot about the importance of mentality and discipline.

What tradition or event at Trinity will you miss the most?
I will miss the tradition of first grade buddies and corral pals the most. I love getting to spend time with my group and the way it allows students to connect across grade levels. It truly is one of the best parts of attending a PreK-12 school, and this tradition does a great job of emphasizing that.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
One of my favorite memories from my time at Trinity is from volleyball season this year. We were looking for a way to get warmed up and to bring up the energy before our game, so we ended up dancing to the song Timber on Just Dance. It became a super fun staple of each game we played and we even got to dance to it at the pep rally in November.

How do you think Trinity has prepared you for life after high school?
Trinity has taught me different methods for studying and preparing for exams. School always came very naturally to me, so learning to study was a challenge that definitely prepared me for college. The rigorous coursework allowed me to succeed while also striving to do better on every assignment and test.

  • Mira Rakesh

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Math, specifically Calculus (Precalculus, Calculus 1 and 2), has definitely had the most impact on me. With the help of two great teachers, Mrs. Vollet and Mrs. Shipley, I was able to immerse myself in the subject. Although it was difficult, each of these math classes became my favorite each year. I enjoy building on my knowledge through each unit and being able to apply it to real-world situations.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
In school, I am involved in Band as a flutist, Student Council as Vice President, and Cheerleading as a flyer. Each of these activities is unique, which is why they are so special to me. They have helped me become more confident and build meaningful relationships with those around me. Whether I am playing in a concert, planning a school event, or performing at a pep rally, I am always having fun.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. Pannell has definitely had a significant impact on my life in and out of school. In 11th grade, I was placed in her advisory and English class, and ever since, I’ve really enjoyed talking with her and participating in her lessons.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
My favorite memory was the sophomore expeditionary learning trip, where we visited many colleges throughout Texas. It was an amazing time spent with friends and a great way to jump-start the college admissions process.

What are your plans after you graduate?
From an early age, I have always looked up to my parents and the careers they pursued as physicians. With this in mind, I plan to major in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology on a pre-medical track at Emory University. After college, I hope to go to medical school to become a physician.

  • Audrey Li

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’ve participated in hockey, played in band, created the Music Performance Club, and performed with Davy K (a rock band). They have shaped my high school experience by teaching me many valuable skills and lessons like dedication, hard work, leadership, communication, collaboration, and teamwork (as well as being enjoyable things to do, for the most part, during all the times they don’t cause me extreme stress).

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
GO TO T-BLOCK! Seriously, I’ve gone to t-block almost every day all of high school. I ask my teachers for help to understand things better and ask tons of dumb questions, so don’t be afraid to go to t-block and ask.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
A few of my favorite memories are playing Jig 2 upside down on drumline, going on the band trip to Branson, Missouri, and destroying the robotics competition in 5th grade with the Amazing Trinity Dragons.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I’m looking forward to all the fun senior traditions like first grade buddies and Valentine’s Day, and of course, graduating.

How do you think Trinity has prepared you for life after high school?
I think Trinity has prepared me for life after high school primarily by providing an extremely solid education that has laid the framework for success in college. Secondly, small class sizes and t-block have allowed me to get to know my teachers, which is useful for developing relationships with professors in college. Lastly, Trinity has encouraged participation in activities, and I have done so through band, drumline, and clubs; this encouragement has taught me how to get involved in groups with others, which I plan to do throughout college.

What are your plans after you graduate?
    Go to college.

  • Emma Wiesen

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
Even though everyone says this, I definitely am excited for all the senior traditions. Most of all, I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day and handing out gift bags. I have had numerous senior classes pass out valentines, and I can’t wait to do it myself! I’m so excited to do this because I’ll get to give my little sister, Quinn, who’s in 5th grade, a Valentine. Going to the same school as my sister has been such a blessing, and I’ve been counting down the days to experience this fun tradition with her!

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Soak it all up! Attend as many games as possible, take the hard classes, and have fun with everything. Even though it’s such a cliche, your high school years fly by so fast, and before you know it, it will be coming to an end. When I look back on my experience, I’m glad I enjoyed it as much as I did because I will have great memories to look back on for the rest of my life.

What tradition or event at Trinity will you miss the most?
I think the thing I’ll miss the most is daily Chapel. It is such a special time for me and has made my faith so much stronger. Since I’ve been attending Trinity for 16 years now, not having chapel every day will be a really big change, but I am really glad I’ve been able to experience it for such a long time.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
One of the moments I felt most proud of myself was when I found out I was going to be cheer captain alongside my best friend Katie. This was such a big achievement for me because this year was my sixth year of cheering. Being trusted to lead a team was really rewarding, and we had a great season! The relationships I made through cheer are some of my most cherished ones, and looking back on all the memories I made makes me super happy.
  • Addy Keener

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
English and creative writing have really deepened my love for storytelling and self-expression. What I've appreciated most about Trinity is the flexibility to pursue multiple interests. For the last three years, I've been able to take both English and creative writing courses while also exploring extra science classes like computer science and anatomy and physiology. This balance has allowed me to follow my passion for writing while still challenging myself in STEM subjects that broaden my perspective.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Cheer has been such an important part of my high school journey, especially because of the friendships I've made. I became close with some of my teammates, and those friendships have been some of my favorite parts of high school. Getting to cheer with my sister again for two years made it even more meaningful, since we had cheered together before high school. Learning to work with a team and building those friendships through cheer have truly shaped my high school experience.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I'm looking forward to all the fun senior activities and traditions, planning my grad party, and of course, graduation itself. But beyond that, I'm excited about the transition ahead; moving toward an exciting new chapter of my life filled with new experiences, challenges, and opportunities.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to attend college and major in Psychology or Political Science.

  • Madeline Weisenfels

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. Merryman, Mrs. Patterson, and Mrs. Duenas have all had a significant impact on me. I was diagnosed with ADHD my sophomore year and they were the ones who strongly advocated for me when I was really struggling and helped me succeed. They worked with my mom to help me feel good about my work and to get the help and diagnosis I needed.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I would advise them to work hard and to ask for help when you need it. It is so much easier to succeed when you ask for help and advocate for yourself.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
One of my favorite memories from Trinity is meeting my 1st grade buddies and getting to bond with them. I think it’s super important to have someone you look up to, so being that person for my buddies is something I really value.

How do you think Trinity has prepared you for life after high school?
Trinity has taught me the skills I need to be successful in college. Specifically, study skills and how to use my time wisely and efficiently. It has also taught me how to effectively communicate with teachers and adults. It has given me the confidence to advocate for myself and feel comfortable to ask for help when needed.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to go to the University of Oklahoma and major in journalism or communications with the dream of going into sports broadcasting/media.

  • Connor Moore

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Junior year of English really impacted me. Mrs. Patterson taught me how to really read between the lines. I realized that media literacy is especially important in todays day and age. I don't think I would be as conscious of current events as I am now without Mrs. Patterson.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I became involved with Midland Community Theater by joining Pickwicks. Joining this group really helped me to come out of my shell and realize the deep love and appreciation I have for Theater. I have met so many different types of people, and became close friends with many of them. Those people have taught me more about myself and the world around me than I could have learned in school or in a sport.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I have committed to Schreiner University and plan on Majoring in Music and teaching.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I’m most looking forward to graduation. It will be nice to see how far all of my friends have come.

  • Logan Patterson

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Before entering high school, I did not think fondly of really any subject, but when I got up here, my love and interest for English began. I have always been really creative and had a big imagination since I was a child, and I would always be playing pretend with my mom and sister, and I would love it when she would make up stories. I am always aiming to grow my skills in English and enhance my writing. When I do not make the grade I was hoping for, I try to take it as more of a lesson learned to tell myself what I need to improve on. Whether I am writing an essay, journaling, reading, or having a discussion, I always feel myself improving.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Throughout my time at Trinity, I have had many teachers help me. Going all the way back to when I was in middle school, I really struggled with math, and even though Mrs Shipley wasn't my teacher, she would take time out of her day to help and tutor me after school, and I am still grateful for that to this day.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Do not hold onto things that aren't beneficial to your life, and try to be your own person, as individualism is what makes people shine. You should always put forth your best effort, as these four years are important in preparing you for your future and strengthening your work ethic. You are not always going to make amazing grades, but if you truly tried and worked hard, you shouldn't discredit yourself.

What are your plans after you graduate?
After high school, I plan to get out of Midland and study journalism either in Austin or in the northeast. I see myself living in a big city, and I am really excited to see what my future holds. I will continue to work hard and focus my energy on things that are important to me.

  • Elliott Nunez

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I have always gravitated towards science classes at Trinity, but chemistry stood out for me. During my sophomore year, I realised how much I enjoyed it; taking advanced topics in chemistry in my junior year only made it clearer that I wanted to further study chemistry in college. Throughout high school, Trinity’s science department, with challenging courses and dedicated teachers, has made it clear to me that I want to continue pursuing science in college, especially chemistry.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I would tell incoming freshmen to start strong: stay on top of work from day one, stay organized, and pay attention to how each class or activity might shape your future opportunities, including your college applications. At the same time, don't rush through high school so fast that you forget to enjoy it. As Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo said, “Enjoy the butterflies.” Embrace the nerves, the new experiences, and the uncertainty, as one day you will look back and realize that these moments mattered more than you thought, and you would do anything to relive them.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
Some of my favorite memories from Trinity are from expeditionary learning trips. While initially apprehensive about the idea during my freshman year, I realized that they were indeed quite enjoyable. Throughout my four years, each trip has carried with it a confluence of memories with my friends and me, from trying to wear sunglasses for two days straight to deliberately not using any lights within our hotel room for the whole trip. The expeditionary learning trips always manage to deliver a memorable and valuable experience.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to pursue a degree in chemistry and mathematics in college. After completing my undergraduate studies, I hope to pursue medical school, where I can combine my background in chemistry and other sciences to become an elegant, graceful, and successful physician.

  • Marshall Morgan

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
My freshman year I was in a Board Game club which was a little boring since I didn’t know anybody in that club and no one wanted to play monopoly with me. My sophomore year I was in a Wii Sports club which was a lot more fun since I knew some people there and made friends very quickly in that club. In my junior to senior year I got into the RP club which at first was going to be boring but since I knew people in that club I might as well join. I ended up liking it so much I stayed in that club 2 years in a row. I don’t think the games kept me interested in that club but the people I shared my club time with were the most important to me.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
I felt really proud of myself when I was playing Timon in the Lion King musical my 8th grade year. When I was on that stage I felt like the whole world was looking at me in anticipation of what I would do. I always love acting in roles that I can have fun with and improv funny jokes or do a funny dance.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Don’t joke around during class and more importantly ask for help when you need it.

How do you think Trinity has prepared you for life after high school?
Trinity has helped me think for myself and helped me make my own decisions. Whenever I am stuck on anything Trinity has encouraged me to make the calls on my own with only a little bit of help.

  • Katie Mattimoe

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Overall, I think my science classes had the most impact on me. I have always loved science and have been able to double up my science classes every year I have been at Trinity, allowing me to really dive into my interests. I love all of the science teachers and appreciate the way they make their classes fun and engaging. My favorite science class I have taken is Anatomy and Physiology, where we were able to learn so much and participate in several labs and dissections.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I have danced my entire life, but when I came to Trinity my sophomore year, I decided to join cheer. Cheer had a huge impact on my high school experience by allowing me to make new friends, grow as a leader, and make connections with people in the Trinity community of all ages. This year I had the opportunity to be co-captain with my best friend, Emma, and it was so fun and extremely rewarding to watch our team grow and become closer.

What tradition or event at Trinity will you miss the most?
I will definitely miss my first-grade buddies. I love all of the activities we do and getting to see them randomly around school.

What are your plans after you graduate?
After I graduate, I plan to attend college to either major in Public Health or Health Sciences on a pre-optometry track.
  • Rayven Kidd

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I have played tennis all 4 years of high school and am the co-captain of the team this year! Being in a team sport has taught me leadership skills, the importance of camaraderie, how to be consistent and disciplined, and, most importantly, it has given me the best friendships I could ask for.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
This year, I am taking Advanced Topics in Chemistry and it has been by far the most difficult class I have taken. The curriculum is fairly complicated and there were certain circumstances that made the class harder than it needed to be. But, even though I struggled a lot to keep my grades up, I ended up making a 91 on the trimester final. In that moment, I finally knew that all the hard work I did paid off in the most rewarding way possible.

How do you think Trinity has prepared you for life after high school?
Trinity has prepared me for college and beyond in a multitude of ways. But the most important is the exposure to rigorous coursework. Having difficult classes in high school has put me at such an advantage for college because I know I will have a larger background knowledge in the classes I will take in the future.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan on going to college to study Ecology, hopefully becoming a conservation biologist.

  • Leila laFarelle

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I’ve always loved math and science and I feel like both of those subjects have had the biggest impact on me. I’ve loved getting to learn about all the different subjects involved in math and science and some of my favorites have been calculus one and physics. I have played volleyball, club volleyball, sand volleyball, basketball, and baseball. It’s been so fun to get to play with all my friends and family throughout the years and I’m looking forward to getting to finish out the sports seasons even though it may be bittersweet. I have learned leadership skills and important life lessons that I will continue to use throughout my life.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?

I’m looking forward to all the senior traditions like Valentine's Day and getting to hang out with my first grade buddies! I have been looking forward to all the traditions since I was in Lower School, as I’ve been at Trinity all my life, so finally getting to experience them is so cool to me.

How do you think Trinity has prepared you for life after high school?
I think Trinity has prepared me so well for life after high school. I am so excited to see what college has to offer and will bring study skills and social skills I have learned from Trinity to college.

  • Alice LaFarelle

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’ve been involved with volleyball, basketball, and baseball since freshman year. I’ve really loved having these experiences and getting to know people from all different grades. My sports teams have been such a fun part of my high school experience, I’m so grateful I get to play with all my teammates.

What tradition or event at Trinity will you miss the most?
One of my favorite events at Trinity is being at chapel every day. It gives me a place to relax and reset my mind for the rest of the day. It is one of the most peaceful places on campus, and I’ll always cherish the memories I’ve made there.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I would tell freshmen to be involved with as many activities as possible. It helps to build friendships and communities. My favorite memories from Trinity are volleyball games. I love messing around with my friends before the games and then getting to compete with them on the court. • Jordan Klatt

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I played Baseball, Basketball, and Tennis in high school.  For clubs, I was in the  Teachers Helpers, Chess Club, Personal Performance Club, and Things That Fly club.  They all have taught me many different things; the Teachers Helpers taught me how not to get frustrated and to be okay with helping people in uncomfortable situations.  Chess was strategy, Personal Performance was to work hard when nobody was watching, and Things That Fly taught me how to fly drones.

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I took Latin in middle school, and it was a subject I had no interest in, and I was pretty awful at it.  Taking that class for two years and trying to maintain a passing grade taught me how to work hard and do my best in a subject I had no interest in.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mr. Little and Coach LaFarelle have been the biggest influences on me.  They have absolutely let me shine in subjects where I have an interest.  Coach Laf has also been a big influence on me in sports, pushing me to work harder in Baseball and letting me grow into a leading role on the team.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan on going to Ole Miss and studying Finance, on the track to Sports Marketing.

  • Halle Kaane

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
English definitely had the most impact on me. I have always had a place in my heart for literature and Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Pannell really brought that out of me. I always knew I loved to read, and I wanted to write as well, but I never felt smart enough to do so; but Mrs. Pannell helped me improve my grammar skills, and I now feel confident in the work I submit.

What tradition or event at Trinity will you miss the most?
I will definitely miss the way Trinity celebrates Christmas the most. The way the community comes together to donate, sing, and love each other during December is something that I will always carry with me. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, but Trinity makes sure to remember its importance: community and charity.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Stay out of drama and focus on your long-term goals. This was a mentality I came up with when I was a freshman and I believe it contributed to my great high school experience. There are few things about high school that I regret because I remembered that temporary problems are just that, temporary. I would tell incoming freshmen to try and think your actions through, and whether it contributes positively to your long-term goals.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I’ve always known what I wanted to do: nursing. My mom is a nurse practitioner and she tells me about her career all the time. This isn’t something I felt pressured into, but inspired, and my mom supports me all the way. I also love working with children, so being a pediatric nurse practitioner is what I’m leaning towards.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
What I was looking forward to most this year has already happened: first grade buddies. The girls I got are Charlotte and Eddie and they’re the cutest, kindest people. But I’m also looking forward to Senior Skip Day because I love staying at home all day.

After graduation, I plan to attend college majoring in Political Science (and hopefully Human Rights as well) on the pre-law track and once I graduate undergrad I plan to go to law school in hopes of having a career as either a lawyer or a politician.

My mother, father, and nana taught me to be proactive and to not fall behind on work. What tradition or event at Trinity will you miss the most?
I will miss the advisories with Mr. Little and performing drumline during the football halftime shows.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Never procrastinate and always listen in class. It may not seem important right now, but colleges are looking at transcripts for every year of your high school career, and bombing your freshmen year will show.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
The Sophomore expeditionary learning trip is by far my most favorite memory. Being able to have a relaxed trip where we explored different colleges allowed me to enjoy the laid back and peaceful atmosphere of the trip.

  • Hunter Benson

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. Patterson and Mrs. Shipley have made significant impacts on me throughout high school. Whether it was explaining to me more than once why something worked the way it did, or just being supportive of something I did or was telling them about. Mrs. Patterson, specifically, I have known since kindergarten because I went to school with her kids, and ever since freshman year, when I put the dots together – that she was my teacher – she has helped me through school work and other things that weren't required of her. She always goes above and beyond for every student and shows she truly cares.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
The advice I would give to incoming freshmen is do not bite off more than you can chew with rigor in classes. And most importantly when Mr. Jones says are you sure this is a good schedule, rethink it.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am looking forward to the Valentine’s Day tradition where we get to make custom shirts and ride around on scooters handing out Valentine's Day presents. That tradition is a favorite among graduating seniors and I can not wait for it.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I am planning on either going into the military right after high school or doing a military-related thing in college (Core of Cadets or ROTC) and going in as an officer. Regardless of which one I choose, I plan to be in the military for at least four years, then choosing what I want to do with my life after.
