Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Pre-calculus has had the most impact on me by far. That’s where most of my competitive nature came from. After going the whole first trimester only missing a single point on one test, I made it my goal to compete for the highest grade. Unfortunately, Chance stole that from me by less than half a point, but I still learned valuable study skills. Having my hard work (nearly) pay off was an achievement I’m still proud of to this day.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I tried to be involved in as much as I possibly could: tennis, band, speech and debate, theater, and several art related clubs. It made for an extremely busy high school experience, and I often went out of town at least once every week for my various activities. All the late nights at school were worth it for the people I met and the moments I got to share with them. I wouldn’t have met some of my best friends now if it wasn’t for the Trinity tennis team, and some of my favorite memories are from the exhausting rehearsals for theatrical productions. A lot of these activities also allowed me to travel a lot, visiting every corner of Texas and leaving me with friends from across the map.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
When we were really little, we would celebrate Clifford Day. Of course, 5 year old me loved the big red dog, and I almost couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that we were going to have Clifford actually visit us for his birthday. One of my classmate’s great dane, which completely towered over me, was dyed red to celebrate and I got to actually meet Clifford the big red dog.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to attend A&M University to study biomedical engineering, hopefully to specialize in tissue engineering after I graduate. I’ve always been super interested in STEM and biomedical engineering would allow me to explore my interests in a way that benefits others.

  • Luis Villalobos Matson

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
The most impactful course I took was Algebra II with Mrs. Wheeler. Mrs. Wheeler helped me find my love for math, and I especially enjoyed her class and her teaching. I appreciate her a lot for helping me learn to love math the way I do.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I was a part of the swim team for all four years of high school, and I think that shaped me into the person I am today. Working hard every day to achieve your goals helps you with your mental health and your stress levels.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
There have been many teachers who have influenced me during my experience at Trinity. One of them is Mrs. Duenas. During my four years in Upper School, she supported me with unquestioning positive influence, she is so amazing and approachable. She is kind, caring, and amazing.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Some advice I would give to freshmen is to trust your gut, study your heart out for every test, turn in your homework on time, and especially talk to your teachers.
  • Matthew Slatken

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Of the many activities and clubs I was involved in, football and tennis specifically stand out. Football was the first team sport I participated in since elementary school, and initially, it was shocking just how tightly knit yet inviting the community surrounding it was. I have played tennis for many years, and it definitely comes in clutch after a difficult day at school to just set foot on the courts and hit some balls– It’s a great stress reliever.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. Vollet has had a significant effect on me. Her approach to teaching has made topics that I have found particularly disinteresting (mathematics) extremely interesting to me by relating them to game theory.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I would tell incoming freshmen to be wise with how and with whom they spend their time. Throughout the first years of my high school experience, I surrounded myself with people who were not beneficial to my academic or mental health, and it definitely showed. Also, don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself if you’re in an uncomfortable situation.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I was looking forward to (and currently enjoying) all of the freedoms associated with senior year. Namely, I looked forward to eating lunch off campus and not having to be at school for my study halls.

What are your plans after you graduate?
After graduating, I plan on attending Savannah College of Art and Design to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial Design.

  • Modesta Welborn

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
I was really impacted by Mrs. Duenas, Mrs. Patterson, and Mrs. Lunson. When I first entered upper school I didn’t care about my school work and had no motivation to do any of my work. Mrs. Duenas was my ESS teacher at the time, and she showed me how to do school work and how to study; she really helped me improve my work habits, setting me up for success in the future. Mrs. Patterson was my Advisor and my English teacher for my sophomore and junior years; Mrs. Patterson was always there emotionally and supported me when I was struggling. Mrs. Lunson is my art teacher and has been since I was 12, Mrs. Lunson is one of my biggest supporters when it comes to my art. She always helped me and presented me with new opportunities and competitions; it’s because of her I still love art.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
The small class sizes can be a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, you can form really close relationships with teachers and peers. On the other hand, having such small class sizes can make it difficult to branch out to other friend groups because everyone is already comfortable with their designated cliques.

Can you share a funny or unexpected moment that stands out in your mind?
The summer before freshman year, my art teacher, Mrs. Lunson, convinced me to enter this art competition that had me draw something inspired by Texas culture. I painted something last minute in roughly 45 minutes. I was not particularly proud of it, but it ended up winning first place. I didn’t know it won until it was announced during chapel, and at the time, going up in front of everyone as a freshman was already embarrassing for me, but on top of that, the representative of the 11th district of Texas in Congress was on zoom and asked me a bunch of questions. I had no idea any of this was going to happen and had to improv answers to these meaningful questions about a painting I did not particularly care about. It was incredibly embarrassing.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am really excited about all of the activities we all will get to do as school work dies down, such as Valentine's Day, dorm wars, life 101, senior prom, senior dinner, and, of course, graduation.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I am planning to move to Savannah, Georgia, to attend Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in the fall and major in illustration with a concentration in character concept design. I also want to maybe minor in painting or take painting classes. Before I decide on a career path, I want to explore different artistic fields and take a lot of different classes to discover what I should pursue.

  • Jude Varner

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I was a part of the football team for all four years of high school. As a captain of the team for three years, I learned how to be a strong leader and push others, as well as myself, to give 100% on every play.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Dr. McHale has had a strong impact on my love for science and has always pushed me to be the best student I can be.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
The amount of love and support you feel from the teachers is incredible. I feel if I have any issues, academic or personal, I have adults around me who care and want what’s best for me.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
During freshman year, on our expeditionary learning trip, the boys stayed in a hostel while the girls got to stay at a hotel. We were all mad about this at the time but in hindsight it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had. I was able to connect with my classmates more and make lasting memories with them.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to attend Texas A&M University and major in nursing with hopes of becoming a CRNA in the future.

  • Ray Qi

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
I felt particularly proud of myself when I qualified for the ATSSB All-State band for the first time my sophomore year. After falling one chair short my freshman year, I pushed myself to practice harder, and my efforts eventually paid off. Making the All-State band three years has shown me that you can achieve your goals with hard work and dedication.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who significantly impacted you?
The teacher who has made the most significant impact on me was Mrs. Duenas because she helped me fit in with others at Trinity. As a naturally introverted person, I was worried about moving to a new high school, but after meeting Mrs. Duenas, I realized that I didn’t have to feel scared. She made me feel like I could comfortably express myself around others and showed me that Trinity is an extremely supportive community.

One of my favorite memories from my time at Trinity was the expeditionary learning trip my freshman year. During this trip, I made a lot of new friends and shared many happy memories. My friends and I still laugh and reminisce about our time together at Santa Fe.

  • Anthony Mixer

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
One extracurricular activity I felt especially involved in was theatre. While channeling other characters, I was able to explore different perspectives and emotions, which helped me discover more about myself. Theatre taught me confidence, teamwork, and creativity, and it became a space where I could express myself freely and connect with others who shared my passion. It truly shaped my high school experience by giving me a sense of belonging and purpose.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
When I first arrived at Trinity, the most challenging aspect was adapting to a new environment and making friends. However, the close-knit community became incredibly supportive once I got connected with my peers. The teachers were approachable and invested in student success, which helped me find my place and appreciate the collaborative culture over time.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
As an incoming high school freshman, my advice is to stay open-minded and get involved. Join clubs, sports, or activities that interest you—it’s a great way to make friends and discover new passions. • Aisulu Tanatar

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Biology has had the most impact on my life. Particularly in high school, when you take this course, you learn information that can be applied in your everyday life. For example, learning about various diseases and viruses can be helpful when you need to identify that same disease or virus. Learning about your body and the processes that make up the way it functions is truly one of the best investments you can make for your health.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I would recommend that freshmen always stay involved in events organized by the school. It is crucial not to neglect extracurricular activities while also trying to focus on your academics; I recommend learning how to plan and organize your schedule to not cause burnout by taking on more tasks than you can manage.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
My favorite memory so far was when we had the “Trick or Treating” event with our First Grade Buddies. I remember it being a lot of fun since we got the opportunity to bond with our buddies and make Halloween at Trinity memorable for them.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
Senior year is my only year at Trinity, and so far, it has been very exciting to learn about all of the High School traditions and actively participate in them. I am most looking forward to prom and the graduation ceremony since I believe that they demonstrate traditions that are the most unique to Trinity.

I have been in cheer through all 4 years of high school. Cheer has taught me the importance of teamwork and also how to manage my time.  Staying after school every day from August to November for practice has helped me learn how to balance my time in order to do schoolwork on time. It has built lasting friendships within my cheer group while providing me with opportunities to connect with students from different grades.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. Patterson has been my adviser for all four years of high school, along with being my English teacher for two of those years. She always looks for the best in people and doesn't let you give up, offering help whenever you need it.

My advice for freshmen is to enjoy high school. Study and work hard, but don’t forget to have fun. Go to a football game and just mess around. Focus on making memories and good friendships.

Can you share a funny or unexpected moment that stands out in your mind?
In my sophomore year in geometry, I sat next to John, and he found a ruler with a phone number. He pulled out his phone, called the number during class, and heard Mrs. T's voice. He had no clue it was her number, but she figured out that he was in Mrs. Shipley’s room. She came to our class dressed up as a gladiator, ready to fight whoever called her.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
One of my favorite memories at Trinity was also in Latin. We were taking a spelling test during class, and Mrs.T read the words for us to spell. Then, John yelled out the spelling of the word, which helped me get the spelling right.

I’ve participated in several sports during high school, but trying basketball for the first time at Trinity was a standout experience. While I wasn’t able to continue playing this year, the lessons I learned from basketball—especially how determination can lead to improvement—will always stick with me.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Find classes that genuinely interest you and don’t be hesitant about asking your teachers for help—they’ll be happy to see that you want to do well in their class. High school is a time of discovery, so not knowing exactly who you are or what you want is normal.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Photography impacted me the most because it allowed me to explore the world in creative and unique ways. It wasn’t just about taking pictures—it gave me the chance to meet people who appreciated my work and build meaningful connections through shared moments. Hearing others’ positive feedback about my photos boosted my confidence and inspired me to keep growing as an artist. Photography became more than a class; it became a way for me to connect with others and express myself.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I played basketball for three years, and it had a huge impact on me. My improvement in basketball helped me build confidence—not just on the court, but in other areas of my life too. It taught me the value of hard work and how to believe in myself. Balancing basketball with school also taught me time management. Between practices, games, and homework, I learned to stay organized and make every minute count. Plus, the bond I built with my teammates is something I’ll always cherish.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
I was extremely proud of myself when I maintained the High Honor Roll after moving to Midland. Adjusting from a British curriculum in a completely different country to a new school system wasn’t easy, but I worked hard and proved to myself that I could do it.

  • Angel Naila

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
Over the summer, Mrs. Horton, the mom of one of the students I tutor, commissioned me to paint her dad a picture of his cow for Father’s Day. It was one of my longest paintings that I have done, (21 hours), but it was worth every minute when I watched her family’s reaction to it.

Art has always been my way of showing love for others so I wanted to see if I could turn this into a bigger thing than just painting birthday/holiday gifts for my loved ones. Through connections from the art department at Trinity, I have been able to demonstrate at Septemberfest and learn about the art world. In November, I sold pieces at Maker’s Market and learned about product making and marketing. Now, I have created a business: business cards, art prints, an instagram account, a mockup of a photography book (I am a photographer too!), and more!

Since then, I have been working with Mrs. Lunson to get advice as I go through the process of this but I could not have done it without the art department’s resources and opportunities at Trinity! From fostering my love for photography to learning how to use oil paints, I am so blessed to have an avenue to share my love and talents with others.

For the month of December, Angel has made Christmas cards. They are $5 and made to order. They will be 5x7 inch, and there are 3 design options. Click here to view the designs and order. Order window closes December 17th. They will be ready for pick up in Mr. Freese's office by Lessons and Carols on Friday, December 20th.
To view her art, visit her Instagram account @nailamakes00.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Ms. Vollet– she has such a thorough understanding of math and her pedagogy has helped me succeed in her class time and time again. Her willingness to listen has helped me through hard times and her “lore” is so fun to learn about. She has done more for me than I think she realizes just by being her. Thank you Ms. Vollet!

Mrs. Patterson– she is more than a teacher to so many students. She is so funny and makes learning fun. She is so wise and knows how to engage students in her teaching. Thank you Mrs. Patterson!

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
This too shall pass– so enjoy the time you have! And just get through all the major grades. You will not remember the letter grade in a year but you (hopefully) will recall the material! Life is more than grades. Good grades do not get you into Heaven!” a quote that Brooklyn and I always shared after a pre calc test.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
All of my ISAS trips– late nights in the hotel with Alex are a treasured memory for me and I am so grateful for them. We collectively ran on 6 hours of sleep the total trip and it was the time of my life. From the concerts to the food trucks, they were the time of my life!

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
Definitely Valentine’s Day and the senior shirts. I am really excited to see how creative the names get.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to go to college and get my PhD in cancer biology/oncology and go into research.

  • Brooklyn Pearson

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Volleyball has been such a huge part of my high school experience. I have played on the varsity team for four years and served as team captain for the last two. I have also played club on a national level team and was able to travel to out-of-state tournaments and play against girls from all over the country. I have learned so much about myself while playing the sport I love. I’ve grown in my leadership abilities, learned to persevere through hard situations, and stay positive despite any outcome. The best part of all are the relationships I have formed and the amazing people I have met along the way.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
My advice to incoming freshmen is to find a good balance between school and life outside of it. Work hard in school, go to T-block, and ask for help from teachers when needed, but also find a balance for extracurricular activities, fun time with friends and family, and hobbies. Four years in high school fly by, so take advantage of all of the times to have fun!

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am most looking forward to spending time with my first grade buddies, and all the fun Senior Trinity traditions like ringing the college acceptance bell and Valentine’s Day. It has been so fun to watch other grades, and my older sister, get to do these things and I can not wait to participate in them myself!

What are your plans after you graduate?
After graduation, I plan to attend Baylor University and study Early Childhood Education. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher, and I love working with kids. I hope to someday be a positive light to my students, like so many of my sweet teachers have been for me.

  • Lily McHale

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
My mom, dad, and little brother have impacted me a lot throughout my high school career whether that's pushing me through the academic challenge that was junior year or just showing up to all my sports events. Even walked alongside me through all 36 holes of the state golf tournament. Patrick is always there to make me laugh and listen to me complain about my life. I love having my mom at school with me every day because I feel secure in knowing that she can be there for me if the day gets tough or on the great days when I get accepted into college. I could not be more grateful for these amazing people.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
My favorite aspect of Trinity’s culture is the tight bond I have with my classmates and teachers. I love being able to have friends in other grades and how quickly I can make friends through our welcoming community. Being so close with my teachers makes it easy for me to ask for help when I need it and just to create personal connections with them is really special to me.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
My advice to incoming freshmen is to savor every moment in high school because it goes by too quickly. Finding a balance between school life, social life, and sports is super important because it can be really easy to get attached to one and forget the others. Don’t forget about your parents and siblings either, you only have 4 more years with them so don’t take anything for granted.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am looking forward to being accepted into college and participating in all the exciting Trinity traditions. For example, being a senior I get to have a first-grade buddy and this has been so fun for me already. I have the best first graders and I love being able to set a good example for them. I also love the chance I get to reconnect with my first-grade teacher Ms. Miller.

What are your plans after you graduate?
My plans after high school are to attend college and major in Psychology.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Follow your dreams, don't let anyone tell you the opposite. It will pay off. Also, go in a lot during T-block, especially if you’re taking a more advanced class.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
Camp Eagle was really fun, everyone got to connect at a deeper level and we all became great friends.

  • Allison Marquez

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
All my science classes—Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Anatomy—had the biggest impact on me. Each one pushed me to explore ideas that felt challenging at first, helping me realize I’m capable of more than I thought. My passion for biology and chemistry especially grew as I saw how they connected to my dream of becoming a plastic surgeon. Learning about the human body and the science behind it made me excited to use this knowledge to help others. These classes weren’t just requirements; they were stepping stones toward a future where I can combine my love for science with making a difference.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I was involved in varsity cheerleading, theater/choir, and a few medical programs outside of school. Cheer especially taught me a lot about teamwork, trust, and dealing with pressure, which were valuable lessons in all areas of my life. Theater and choir helped me step out of my comfort zone, as performing in front of people was new and intimidating at first. The medical programs showed me what I want to pursue long-term and made me feel more confident in my goals.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
One of my proudest moments was during an ice skating competition when I earned second place. As soon as I heard of this opportunity I wanted to give it my all and I was so excited. I practiced for weeks, working from 2-3 hours per day, pushing myself even when it got tough. Getting second made all the hard work and long hours worth it, and it reminded me that dedication really does lead to success. This experience taught me the value of perseverance and the confidence that comes from achieving a hard-earned goal.

What are your plans after you graduate?
After graduation, I plan to attend Baylor, majoring in biology as a pre-med student to prepare for medical school. I want to become a plastic surgeon, focusing on helping people feel confident in their own skin. I’m excited to take the next steps in my education, and I’m looking forward to learning everything I can to reach this goal.

  • Gigi Molina

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’ve been on both the volleyball and tennis teams all four years of high school. Being a student-athlete has had a pretty positive impact on my high school experience. For one, I have learned many lessons about time management and maintaining balance within life. I’ve also made some of my favorite memories while playing tennis and volleyball. In truth, I couldn’t imagine high school without thinking about volleyball bus rides or the tennis state tournament.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
One aspect of Trinity’s community I find most supportive is its teachers. Whether it be showing up to a sporting event, laughing with the class over a silly joke, or helping a student reach their goal, the faculty never fails to show they care. I believe it is such a blessing to have known and been taught by teachers like those at Trinity.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I’m most looking forward to participating in all of the senior traditions.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan on majoring in business with an emphasis in marketing. I would also like to look into studying entrepreneurship (since I want to create my own company one day).

  • Adan Madrid

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Algebra II had the most impact on me. Mrs. Wheeler trusted in me to be able to take geometry and algebra II at the same time. She was always extremely supportive and helped me learn. I will never forget the impact she made on me.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
I was particularly proud of myself sophomore year when I was able to improve my grades from Freshman year greatly.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. The teachers are always willing to help when you are willing to ask.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I am going to college and majoring in petroleum engineering. I will also continue to participate in team roping.

  • Lomi Lewis

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
My first year of biology had a significant impact on my career goals. My love for biology and my passion for the study of the human body were inspired by Dr. McHale's class.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
High school will fly by so be intentional about making memories and having fun.  Find a balance between school, extracurricular activities, and time spent with your friends.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am looking forward to making the most out of my time left here and getting closer to my friends and teachers. I also can't wait to engage in all of the senior traditions that Trinity has to offer.

What are your plans after you graduate?
My plans are to attend college and major in either nursing or special education.

  • Lincoln Lewis

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I struggled my whole life with any math class, but every math teacher I have ever had has given me extra help and ensured that I understand the material. Math has grown on me and is now my favorite subject and the subject I enjoy most.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I am one of the four captains of the Trinity football team this year, and I have been playing Trinity football since 7th grade. Football has been one of the most influential things in my life. It has taught me how to work with a team and keep fighting even when it's hard, and most importantly, it brought me closer to my teammates and friends who play with me. I am so thankful for all of the coaches, Coach Midkiff, Coach Laf, and Coach Koch, for pushing me to my limits and teaching me important life lessons and the sport of football.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
I felt proud of myself when I achieved high honor roll for the first time with the help of Mrs. Duenas and all my high school teachers. I am also so thankful to my parents for supporting me while trying to achieve my goal of making the high honor roll. They are my most significant role models, and I am so thankful for how hard they have worked for my family and me.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Every single teacher I have ever had at Trinity, from pre-k to 12th grade, has significantly impacted my life. Growing up with a learning difference, I had to receive extra help from my teachers, especially in high school. Mrs. Deunas was my tutor for my first two years of high school, and her mentorship and the way she truly cared about my education caused me to thrive in school and enjoy the learning experience. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to attend Trinity School and be taught by amazing people for my entire life.

  • Madeline Edwards

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
A huge mentor in my life is my art teacher Mrs. Griffin. I started taking art classes with her in 2020, and throughout the years she has taught me both art skills and life skills. She taught me to be confident in myself and that hard work can get you anywhere. She also taught me to choose to paint what would challenge me, not just what I thought I was capable of. These challenges and support is what led me to become such a confident painter and eventually paint the school's art work.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
My advice would be to come in with no expectations. High school here at Trinity is so different from middle school--there is more mingling between grades, closer relationships to teachers, and more freedom. High school is also a huge time for personal change and growth so don’t be afraid to take the risk and try something new.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
One of my favorite memories is the Penguin Play from first grade. I was super excited because I got to be the Emperor penguin (aka the best penguin), and we got to dress up and put on a cute little play for our parents.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I want to become a large animal vet and work with horses and cattle. I also hope to stick with my hobbies and continue horseback riding and art in college.

  • Devin Jeffcoat

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Computer Science for the last two years has had an impact on me. Funny enough, however, not for the class, but for my teacher. Mrs. D. started teaching at Trinity during my first year of high school, so she has seen me grow through high school. Coming into high school, I was quite introverted, but Mrs. D. being hilarious, outgoing, and very supportive helped me become more confident and extroverted.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
For the past 12 years, I have played hockey, and it has taught me many skills and lessons over the years. During my freshman year, I quickly learned how hard I would have to work. Whether I had practice late or games over the weekend, I would still have to find time for school. Throughout high school, I have learned how hard work pays off, and that you can always find time.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am looking forward to being accepted into colleges and going on the Europe trip during Spring Break.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I hope to attend Colorado School of Mines and study mechanical engineering.

  • Lucas Kim

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
This February, I qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament for the third time in my high school career. When I flew to Iowa a few months later for a week of competition, I surprised myself, my coach, and a few of my peers by making it to the semifinalist rounds in Congressional Debate. I am particularly proud of my Speech and Debate record as there was a point in my life when any form of public speaking and even raising my hand to speak in class caused me significant amounts of anxiety. Stepping out of my comfort zone and participating in an activity that I knew would be terrible at first turned out to be one of my life's most rewarding choices.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Throughout high school, prioritize moderation. One of my biggest regrets is that I spent too much time and energy on things that don’t matter in the long run. Yes, focus on school, get decent grades, and set your priorities. But be sure to plan hangouts with friends, support your classmates at school matches, build those relationships, and be a little crazy. Your high school years go by so quickly, so make memories that you can reflect on years from now and be happy you made them.

What are your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
My favorite memories from Trinity always happened on school trips when spending a few nights at a hotel with my friends. Whether I’ve just returned from an amusement park on a band trip or debated for an entire day with little to no energy left, I vividly remember most of these nights in the hotel rooms with my friends. If I wasn’t sleeping, my friends and I were either blasting karaoke, having a pillow fight, or laughing hysterically over inside jokes that made no sense to anyone else. I will never forget these memories, and I still occasionally find myself watching videos that I recorded of these moments years ago.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan on attending college and studying biosciences on a pre-med track. Assuming I don’t have a change of heart, I want to pursue a career in medicine and, hopefully, one day become a doctor or a surgeon. In college, I hope to meet new friends and build connections with my peers and professors. Of course, I’ll prioritize keeping in touch with my friends here at Trinity.

  • Miriam Hartman

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
In my senior year, I’m most looking forward to finishing my last season of cheer and choosing a university to attend for the next four years.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I would tell freshmen to not be too intimidated by your teachers, don’t take yourself too seriously, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
I think the faculty is the most supportive aspect of Trinity. Everyone wants you to succeed and would go out of their way to help you with almost anything.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
The only extracurricular I stayed in for all of high school was cheer. Cheer did many things for me, from giving me some of my best friends and role models, to teaching me how to be a good leader.

  • Sofia Gil

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’m am in volleyball, basketball, tennis, student council, and I’m also a prefect. Through this involvement in my school I’ve been able to meet and create connections with so many different people, especially in sports. I’ve learned important life skills like time management and communication through these extracurriculars and I’ve also made so many friendships along the way. I’m extremely thankful for the opportunities Trinity has given me to become involved in the school.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Take school seriously because your grades matter now but also remember to have fun and save time for your friends and family. High school goes by super fast so try to make the most of it by getting involved in a sport or a club that you enjoy and making time for your friends!

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
I have so many, but probably my favorite memory from Trinity was when I went on the school Europe trip. It was so fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done. There were 46 of us so it was a pretty big group and I thought we were going to have to stick together the whole time but we actually had a lot of freedom. We got to walk around Paris and Germany by ourselves and try new foods and explore the cities. I was a sophomore at the time, but I became really good friends with juniors and seniors on the trip and made so many fun memories. I definitely recommend going on one of these abroad school trips if you get the chance!

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
Im looking forward to the 2025 school Europe trip to Greece and Italy the most. I can’t wait to make more memories with my friends on that trip! I'm also looking forward to homecoming, senior assassin, my upcoming sports seasons and my college acceptances!

  • John Dorr

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Looking back, science most likely has had the most profound impact on me. I have always wanted to be an astronaut or engineer since I was a kid. The many different fields and concepts of it have always amazed me. I now even indulge in many documentaries and video essays over many complex concepts of the subject.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Ever since the beginning of Junior year, working out and running has become an integral part of my life and high school experience. I started running races last summer because of my step day, and now I am training to run a marathon in a couple month's time, which is also a part of my Seek and Find.

Usually, every day after school, I go right to working out, running at least 2 miles every day, then weightlifting. Sometimes I even do it in the morning before school, occasionally making me tardy. This has had a major impact on my high school life, shaping it into a better overall experience.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
After having many brothers and sisters have the high school experience prior to me, I have heard many different stories and things that have gone down. So after hearing about all these unique experiences, I am most excited and hopeful for one of the Senior Prank and Senior Skip Day.  Being able to have a whole day to myself, knowing other still have to get up early for classes, and I will be in my bed sleeping in.

What are your plans after you graduate?
My plans after graduation are probably like any other kid, attending college and majoring in something I like, that being Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I will find an internship in my junior year to get actual field experience and see if it's something fit to do for the rest of my life.

  • Christian Gardea

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
I love the culture of Trinity. Since it's a small community, even people I don't talk to I’m close to. I love that we are very connected and close to one another. On top of that, I love the student support that most of the sports get. Though we are not always the best, I love going to a volleyball or football game and cheering on my peers.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. D., AKA Mrs. Dueñas has had the biggest impact. Starting junior year, I would usually spend my study hall period in her class. At first, I was kind of quiet but then slowly I started becoming more and more familiar with her and now during my senior year, I would say I've never been closer to a teacher. If anything, you could say that she’s like a second mom and I appreciate everything she does for the school and community as well.

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
Pre cal has impacted me the most out of all four years here because it taught me to be more disciplined with my time, and I learned how to manage it with the countless graphs and functions that we had to draw. It also taught me how to exceed in learning by genuinely applying my work ethic to the class.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
On the Freshman trip to New Mexico I found myself with five other boys inside a hostel while the girls got a 5-star hotel. But my favorite thing was when my group got locked out of our room and we came up with an elaborate plan to use a potato peeler to cut the film off of the window and climb back inside. Just as we were about to start our plan, another classmate unlocked the door and we figured out it wasn’t even our room, and we weren't locked out at all.

  • Gavin Dorfner

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
Making big plays on the football field has always made me proud. Freshmen year, I remember making a move on a defender making him fall and the play making the news.  Accomplishing this as a freshman was a huge deal and I’ve carried this moment with me all four years of my high school football career.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs D., She helped form me as a person throughout high school. She has been very supportive in my life by helping me in ESS and being my computer science teacher. I appreciate everything she has done for me.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
The Teachers have always been supportive. Despite the rigorous workload, the teachers make themselves available so that I can have the help that I need. I have also made friendships that have supported me throughout my years at Trinity, and I know they will be here for me for years to come.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Don't wait until junior year to start trying. Keep motivation throughout high school.  Make sure you reach out to your teachers and work closely with Mrs. Kramer to make sure that you are on the right track. Also, join extracurricular activities, Trinity allows all students to be involved in all of the activities that you want to do.

  • Tucker Dixon

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Sports have always been a big part of my high school experience. This has caused me to miss a lot of class, but the teachers are very understanding as long as you don't take advantage of their kindness.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
The aspect that comes to mind when I hear community and support is the teachers. All the teachers at Trinity want you to succeed and will help you when you need it. Trinity being the small school that it is, the teachers at Trinity can make close relationships with their students, and they know how best to help when needed.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Some advice that I would give to the incoming freshman is that you should always respect your teachers, and to always go into T-Block when you need help or just need to do any homework, it is also a great time to work on any group projects.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
The thing I'm most excited about is graduating, the culmination of years of work to get that piece of paper. I'm also excited about the senior events, the senior prom, homecoming, and senior dinner. Another reason I'm excited about senior year is spending time with my friends before we go off to college.

  • Sophie Grace Campbell

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
History, I’ve always enjoyed discussing different topics with my peers and doing my own research into different parts of our history.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’ve done basketball since 8th grade and it became really important to me.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
When I qualified for nationals in speech and debate was a huge milestone that I am so proud of reaching.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
My brother has had a big impact on my life and I am so thankful for him and everything he has done for me.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
Having the opportunity to be in so many different extracurricular activities allows me to be involved with so many people and make so many more connections.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Be involved with as many things that interest you, you might find something you would have never thought you would enjoy and make friends that you never would have met.

Can you share a funny or unexpected moment that stands out in your mind?
When I got to watch my older brother deliver his senior chapel talk in a toga.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
I loved going on the band trip every year and getting to make so many memories that I will hold on to forever from that experience.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
All the senior traditions, specifically having a 1st grade buddy because when I was in 1st grade I remember my senior buddy and it was a formative memory for me.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to go to college and then go to law school to become a lawyer.

  • Holden Cochran

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I enjoyed Physics. The class aligned with some of my favorite pastimes and I just overall found it the most interesting class I’ve taken.

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of yourself?
As the first 2 years of high school didn’t go so well, I was proud at the end of junior year when I had raised my grades by a significant enough amount that it was no longer too big of a concern for me in terms of getting into college.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Dr. McHale has had the largest impact on me of any one of my teachers. She’s been a mentor to me, and helped me through my hardest times in high school.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Keep up with your work at all times. Procrastination is a sure way to dig yourself a hole that’s difficult to get out of.

  • Joel Amasowomwan

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I am a Co-President of the African Culture Club. Being a part of this club, especially with a massive leadership role, I have had the opportunity to lead and influence my club members. This experience has shaped me to become more comfortable in a public setting. Overall this club has made high school more fun for me.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
I advise incoming freshmen to try a little bit of everything: clubs, school trips, chapel, STUCO, and most especially sports. Trinity is a relatively small school so there is almost always an open slot for you to participate. Being involved in many school activities may be a bit tasking, but it gives room for growth and new experiences, brings you closer to a lot of people, and introduces you to new people who make your time at Trinity more enjoyable.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am looking forward to the new memories the most. I want to make my last year at Trinity memorable and enjoy my friends' presence before we head off to college.

What are your plans after you graduate?
After I graduate, I want to study mechanical engineering and become an engineering manager.

  • Lauren Blaylock

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
Each of my high school years, I have played volleyball, basketball, and tennis! I think that playing sports has allowed me to make so many friendships with a lot of different people! Also, I think that by going through hard things together (like sweet 24’s – volleyball will know) really makes you have a bond with people! I think that sports also acts as a stress reliever, no matter how busy I get in season, I can always find comfort in playing sports. I really recommend everyone to at least try out some sport. You never know who you will meet or what you will learn!

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
There is so much more to high school than your grades! Of course, lock in when you need to, but I think that building relationships is just as important as grades! You are going to be stuck with these people for the next 4 years, so you might as well make friendships! I think I really adapted this thought process and am able to maintain my grades without making them my whole life – you want to be able to look back and remember the goofy memories you made in high school.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at Trinity?
I think one of my favorite memories at Trinity is going on the Europe trip during my sophomore year. It was super fun to explore Europe while being able to bond with my classmates!

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I am looking forward to the Greece trip and Life 101!

  • Madison Brooks

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I have played volleyball, Basketball, and Golf. I am also a member of Girl Scouts, Stuco, a Trinity Ambassador, and Yearbook. I have also obtained some leadership roles, which have taught me how to work with others to be a successful team.

Have you had any mentors or teachers who made a significant impact on you?
Mrs. Miller has shaped me in many ways. She has been such a positive influence in my life, keeping me close to God and being with me through hard times. Another teacher who has shaped me is Mrs. Duenas. She has been here for me in many ways and has become another mom to me. I’m blessed to have her in my life; she helps me stay on track and sets me up for success.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
I find the relationships so important. We are all very close and have become a family. We can support each other and be there for one another. I’m able to rely on my classmates and teachers.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Don't give up. High school is challenging and full of many different experiences. Just know that it is okay to struggle as long as you don’t give up. You’re here to learn and fail sometimes, but it’s about getting through it.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
I’m looking forward to commitment day! I’m excited to see where everyone will end up and what they will major in.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to attend college and major in professional flight.

  • Richard Black

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I think Mr. Kleinbeck’s English I class and Latin 2 had the most impact on my overall understanding of the English language. Obviously English class helps with spelling, grammar, and writing, but Latin really helped me grasp the deeper bits of English grammar before we went over them in English class. Latin shares a lot with English in that way, and Mr. K drove it home with the teaching in a language I am actually fluent in. Those two classes made me a better reader and writer overall and set me up very well for the rest of my high school career.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Come to T-Block. Every day you can. It has been the most helpful thing compared to middle school. It is the perfect time to talk to teachers or just see your friends. It also is not that big of a change waking up compared to middle school because it starts at the same time. It has saved me on a couple of occasions where I forgot to finish an assignment. I am 100% for T-Block.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
To be honest I am most excited for Valentines Day. The loud, energetic interruptions during class are some of the most fun I remember from lower and middle school. It feels special to receive the little cups with candy and it’s even more special to be the ones handing them out. Not to mention riding around on skateboards and other odd things throughout the school.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I don’t have any plans too far into the future. I am hoping to go to either Colorado College or Denver University — so really just somewhere close to the mountains. I’ll major in a form of History-Philosophy one way or another with a minor or double major in German. The only real goal I have currently is to be fluent in German, so college will help greatly with that. Other than those flexible ideas, I have a go-with-the-flow mentality for what comes next. I am ready to face whatever life throws at me.

  • Alex Anguiano

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I love math, it has always been my favorite subject. My plan has always been to major in math. When I took honors physics with Mr. LaFarrelle, I was able to apply the math that I loved. It has helped me realize that I want to major in electrical engineering as well.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’ve been a competitive swimmer since I was 6 years old. When I joined Trinity, I was finally able to compete on behalf of my school. I have also been fortunate enough to have qualified for state each year in Upper School. The friendships I have made through swim have also been some of my closest friends
    .
This year I established “Coloring Club”. This club has been a great stress reliever for our seniors and juniors. We are one of the larger clubs in the upper school.

I am grateful that I have had many opportunities at Trinity that have helped me have a well-rounded experience.

What aspects of Trinity's culture or community did you find most supportive or challenging?
I love the open relationships that exist between the students and the faculty and staff.  Everyone at Trinity is helpful and supportive. During t-block the teachers are always available to answer questions on assignments. More than that, Mr. Jones and the teachers have an open-door policy that allows us to feel safe when we have any questions or concerns. The maintenance staff and kitchen staff are always friendly and do an amazing job that helps run the school smoothly. Trinity truly is a community and everyone has a goal of helping each other.

Can you share a funny or unexpected moment that stands out in your mind?
This happened the second week of my freshman year.  I was new to Trinity and was walking to chapel. Mrs. Hammer was standing outside of the front office and she said, “Hello Alex!”  I was amazed that our head of school already knew me by name. It really helped me feel that I was valued and I knew that I was at the right place.

Looking back at your high school years, which academic subject or course had the most impact on you and why?
I would say chemistry, I enjoyed the subject a lot, I think the class is very fun to learn and it had taught me a lot of important skills like writing lab reports, being in charge of my assignments, and working with different people during labs.

What extracurricular activities or clubs were you involved in, and how did they shape your high school experience?
I’ve been doing empty bowls for the past 3 years. One of the reasons why I decided to do it was because of my love for making ceramics, and making art while talking with my friends and teachers is one of my favorite moments.

What advice would you give to incoming freshmen based on your experiences?
Make a lot of memories with your peers, cherish every moment, and try to build social connections around you.

What are you looking forward to the most for your senior year?
    Senior prank and prom.

What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to attend college and pursue chemical engineering
